Durham Event DurhamCares 5/4/11

Back in May, I had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite local organizations on an event in Durham. DurhamCares is an engine that fuels nonprofits in our community with volunteers and donations. They also have a Success Grant program where nonprofits receive a donation once they have reached a certain goal, i.e. X number of meals served for a community kitchen. The simple motto, "love your neighbor," is what they're all about.

DurhamCares was instrumental in bringing Dr. Tim Keller to Durham for an evening event at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Tim leads Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan and heads the Redeemer City to City program, a church planting mission. As a thank-you for coming to Durham, DurhamCares hosted and Gather Together planned a benefit for City to City at Rigsbee Hall before the event at DPAC. Take a look...

For an event on a nonprofit budget, a killer venue makes for effortless style. The room had the most beautiful evening light which warmed the industrial, repurposed, modern space.

After the successful benefit reception, An Evening with Tim Keller at DPAC drew a huge crowd. Proceeds went directly to DurhamCares partner organizations.
