Event Design Inspiration in the Big Apple

My husband and I took a trip to New York City (my first time) for our anniversary in May. Let me just say, New York is amazing. The city lifestyle is so captivating, busy, and filled with people. Very different from lil' ol' Mebane, NC. I will definitely be visiting again one day!

Everywhere we went, it seemed like wedding and event inspiration was all around. Here are some cool finds that I had to share...

Let's start at the Metropolitan Museum of Art! This is called "Peonies Blown in the Wind." For obvious reasons, I love it.

This statue was in the Egyptian art wing of the Met. I can't remember the name, but how amazing is the pattern on her dress? Très chic...table linens, bridesmaid dresses, pillows. I wish I had this fabric in real life.

We visited several beautiful churches on the trip. This candle offering table has such a magical glow. There are few things more beautiful than candlelight.

At the Top of the Rock (the rooftop of Rockefeller Center), this crystal "rock" wall caught my eye. What a cool, icy modern design. I'd love to see some furniture, maybe a side table like this.

Vintage trunks and suitcases at Ellis Island. These would add a fun touch to a travel-themed event.

I am in love with this bistro style table setting at The Smith, where we ate brunch one day. The kitchen towel napkin, wood table and simple glassware give a relaxed, leisurely feel.

Where do you find inspiration in everday life?
