Nisha & Lars: Chapel Hill Rigmor House Wedding
At Gather Together, we firmly believe that beauty and brains go hand-in-hand. A perfect example is our May 5th bride and groom, Nisha and Lars. This couple is not only dapper, but brilliant to boot! Nisha, a post doctorate at Duke University, and Lars, who works in the local tech industry, celebrated their love this spring at the lovely Rigmor House in Chapel Hill, NC.

Nisha & Lars planned for a rustic outdoor ceremony to give their guests from Maryland (Nisha's family), Belgium (Lars' family), and all over a taste of the South. NC can be beautiful in May...except when it's not. With ominous clouds rolling in over the sprawling grounds of the Rigmor House, the chances of an outdoor ceremony were looking slim. As a compromise, guests were seated under the tent just outside of the house. Five minutes before the ceremony was to start, the heavens opened up and rain, wind and thunder crashed the party. As guest filed (or more accurately, ran!) inside, the ceremony backdrop changed from what originally would have been a row of leland cypress trees to a wall with a family tree, you could say. Photos of Nisha, Lars, family and friends warmed the hearts of everyone as the two exchanged vows. Love really was all around them!

The lovely couple, all smiles despite the weather
Being the rosy couple that they are, Nisha and Lars did not let a little rain stop them from a wonderful day! As the drops trickled down, guests were served a Mediterranean-inspired heavy hors d'oeuvres menu from City Kitchen. The tables, flowers and lanterns in blue were matched by a sky of white and blue lanterns above.

"Olive" you!
The bride and groom's choreography lessons paid off to start the evening of dancing! The two floated around the dance floor. Nisha's dress flowed with grace during their first dance, but was comfy enough to boogie the night away. In between dance sets, guests were encouraged to thumb print the guest tree, as well as snack on some sweet treats at the dessert bar. After the (cup)cake was cut and the last dance was played, Nisha & Lars were sent on their way with a sparkling farewell and best wishes by all!

A beautiful evening glow
Nisha & Lars, we hope each rain drop symbolized a hope, a dream and a wish for you on your special day!
'Til we Gather Together again...
