Holly & Doug: Wilmington Brunswick Town Wedding
We adore a coastal wedding, and when Holly and Doug presented the opportunity to go to a venue in Wilmington, we could not resist! We were so grateful to be a part of this beautiful day full of perfect details, a gorgeous wedding party and, most important, love and happiness.
Sweet bride, Holly, wanted a stylized Southern vintage feel for her and Doug's nuptials. She and her mother spent months collecting family heirlooms, scouring for antique tea kettles, books and china that would compliment the atmosphere of the day
As Holly slipped into her mother's bridal gown, her fiance waited with bated breath to see his bride. By far one of the most stunning photos to date of Gather Together weddings is Holly and Doug's first look photo on the water. The beach winds swept Holly's dress as the couple kissed and created a pure and stunning moment.
The wedding took place at Brunswick Town State Historic Site, a colonial settlement, and later a fort during the Civil War. The ceremony was in the ruins of St. Philips Anglican Church on site. Merely stepping into the space on that bright, sunny day, you could feel a spiritual presence that gave us goosebumps. You can imagine how it felt during the ceremony!
To enhance the historic site and create a welcoming reception space, a tent adorned with chandeliers created soft light for a warm atmosphere for the evening. In addition to all the family heirloom details, lavish florals and greenery perfected the Southern vintage look.
After dinner, guests were invited to enjoy cupcakes and the large candy bar. The gaggle of adorable kids at this wedding took full advantage. The sugar rush was reflected in their dance moves! As the evening ended and the final song was played, Holly and Doug exited through bubbles and hopped into Holly's dad's vintage Chevelle. It was truly a perfect ending to a memorable day. Congrats to Holly and Doug on your 6-month anniversary!
